THE ART OF YOUSSEF NABIL.

Khadra meets Nabil in Cairo, where the self-taught photographer was born. During his career, Nabil has worked alongside American photographer David LaChapelle and fashion photographer Mario Testino. Inspired by the golden age of Egyptian cinema and portrait photography, he works solely with black and white film, which he painstakingly hand colours. Nabil has portrayed many well-known people including Catherine Deneuve, David Lynch, and Alicia Keys. For his latest project “I saved my belly dancer”, he worked with Salma Hayek and Tahar Rahim.

Together, Khadra and Nabil visit Sheikha Paula in Kuwait, where the avid art collector gives us an exclusive insight into her stunning private art collection. Her collection comprises works by Andy Warhol and Pablo Picasso – just to mention two world-famous artists – and, of course, Youssef Nabil.
